Do you ship costly products after taking credit card orders on the web? One of the common problems vendors face is credit card fraud. Whenever it happens, the original card holder.s loss is limited to some thing like $50. The vendor always suffers the maximum loss! If you are shipping a product to a different location, one way to reduce the chance of fraud is to verify that the order indeed originated from the place where you are shipping to. If John Doe from Maryland, USA orders your product using an Internet Service Provider in a totally different country, certainly there is some thing wrong! So how do you know he was using an ISP from another country? Specify an IP Number and IPLookup will retrieve all available information including the name and address of the ISP or the organization that owns the IP block. Use IPLookup to find the country from which the online order was placed and make sure that it matches the country in the shipping address. Of course you will need to log the IP number whenever some one places an order. Not yet into shipping products? IPLookup is useful to every one... Use it to find the originating location of any IP. Having trouble from a spammer? Find his ISP to report him.IPLookup also includes a domain lookup (whois) with a configurable top level domain database.
