Description:
It's a known fact that continuously staring at a computer screen for hours can be hazardous to your health. Periodically taking breaks can reduce stress, eye strain and prevent many other kinds of maladies. However, it's often difficult to actually step away from the computer, but this program will ensure that you do just that. Rest Your Eyes will actually interrupt your work by displaying a screen saver or running a selected application. It doesn't necessarily reduce productivity because you may easily close your screen saver if you're really busy, or simply deactivate it when you're on-line. You can manually set the interval between breaks as well as the length of the rest period. The program will also display tips to encourage ergonomic practices such as correcting your posture. Further, the program will analyze your progress and generate a report detailing your work and rest periods. The data can be exported to your spreadsheet application and shared with others. As a bonus, Rest Your Eyes is also capable of automatically synchronizing your PC clock with a time server on the Internet.
